AI has gained popularity in writing and for searching but not always for the right reasons. This space is under great scrutiny with growing concerns over academic integrity. Whilst AI may have a place and a more clearly defined role in the future, there are many issues and concerns regarding plagiarism, falsified references and authorship. Please head to the previous page to see articles covering various ethical, safety and regulatory issues with AI.

At this point in time, AI tools are not recommended for research and scholarly writing due to a combination of issues including the inaccuracy of AI, plagiarism and a lack of clear policy and regulation in its use, amongst others.
