Remote Access to Resources

SVHM staff and students begin by searching the catalogue or links available on this website. The library's authentication software will redirect users to the St Vincent's login page where they enter their SVHM email and network password. Users will be able to download pdfs and search the databases for the remainder of the session*.

 

*Important information  

  • Access is only provided to the Library's subscriptions and databases.  

  • The library does not use Open Athens authentication.  

  • Clinicians Health Channel resources have an added layer of authentication. Please view authentication instructions below  

 

Clinician's Health Channel Resources

SVHM staff and students have offsite access to databases, journals and applications such as AMH, MIMS and TGA.  

  1. Navigate to https://www.clinicians.vic.gov.au/  to select a resource 

  2. When prompted, select the St Vincent's Hospital Login link located underneath the CHC login box 

  3. The St Vincent's login page will prompt users for an SVHM email and network password. Users have access to CHC resources for the remainder of the session.

UpToDate Mobile App:

  1. Log in or register for an account at UpToDate using a SVHM networked device. This will enable UpTodate to verify your access.
  2. Download the UpToDate app on your phone and enter your login details to start using*.

Accessing a Specific Article

 

Using SVHM's custom Google Scholar or PubMed URLs will identify and link you to both the Library's subscriptions and Open Access articles. Bookmark these URLs in your browser for quicker access.
