Is the Library open?
The Library space is temporarily being used for COVID-19 operations and therefore not available to patrons.
Are Librarians available to help me?
Yes, the Library staff are working remotely and are available to assist you Monday – Friday between 8:30 – 5:00 pm. They can be contacted by email, library.svhmlibrary@svha.org.au
Which services are available?
Services available: references queries, document delivery, literature searches, e-books, online journals and databases.
Services temporarily unavailable: Print resources and loans, printing including poster printing, face to face tutorials.
When do I return the books I have on loan?
Book loans have been extended until 30 November 2020. If you would like to return them earlier, place them in the Library after hours chute or return them to the Hospital’s mail room. Email the Library if you require information about your borrower account.
Can I access the Library’s electronic resources from home?
Yes, online journals, e-books and databases can be accessed remotely from the Library’s website, http://library.svhm.org.au/libraryhomepage
You will be prompted for a login only once you’ve reached restricted content. Login using your SVHM email and password (see picture below as an example)

Can I access UpToDate at home?
Yes, but you will first need to register for an account while onsite. This is how UpToDate authenticates you as an employee. Below are some general directions. Contact IT Helpdesk for further assistance
Can I access EndNote at home?
Yes. You can request EndNote for your home computer or use a web version.

Can I request an online EndNote or Literature search tutorial?
Librarians can invite you to a meeting in Ms Teams. Zoom meetings could possibly be accommodated if you have not got access to Ms Teams. Contact the Library by e-mail library.svhmlibrary@svha.org.au to set up an online tutorial.
