Journals, articles and book collections can be searched from the homepage.
This diagram shows the type of content, and a rough overlap, of key bibliographic databases used for literature searching. Multiple databases need to be included in a comprehensive literature search, and this is not exact or exhaustive. Databases change constantly and have many layers of duplication.
Clinicians Health Channel - provided by the Health Department, Victoria. Includes MIMs, Australian Medicines Handbook, and Therapeutic Guidelines, BMJ Best Practice, as well as bibliographic databases and journal collections.
UpToDate - Clinical point of care tool. Access provided by SVHM IT Department.

Start your search from the Library's website and follow links to resources when available. A St Vincent's login page will prompt you for an SVHM email and network password if neccessary*.
Access is only provided to the Library's subscriptions and databases.
Remote access is authenticated via St Vincent's login page not Open Athens. The library does not use Open Athens authentication.
Clinicians Health Channel resources have an added layer of authentication. Please view authentication instructions below
SVHM staff and students have offsite access to databases, journals and applications such as AMH, MIMS and TGA.
Navigate to https://www.clinicians.vic.gov.au/ to select a resource
When prompted, select the St Vincent's Hospital Login link located underneath the CHC login box
The St Vincent's login page will prompt users for an SVHM email and network password. Users have access to CHC resources for the remainder of the session.
