Safer Care Saves Money

This report by Stephen Duckett and Christine Jorm of the Grattan Institute contends that "Australia could save $1.5 billion a year on health spending by improving the safety of patient care in hospitals".

The report casts a critical eye over the current systems in place to ensure safety and drive improvement, and recommends an overhaul of hospital accreditation and making information on complications in individual hospitals available to the public.
